Instructional Objectives: Students will research and create a PowerPoint to show how the natural resources are turned into a finished product. The students will also share the form of transportation that should be used to reach to location of the natural resources. Before Class Preparation: The teacher will make sure all computers in the computer lab are ready to use. Also, teacher must ensure all documents for each group is ready for use.

Have students view the PowerPoint about natural resources to finished products in their collaborative groups.
Students will work in groups to assign jobs. Pass out the recipe sheet.

2 class periods
Students will use the scavenger hunt on Google Docs to assit in finding the locations of the nautrual resources in an apple pie are found. Students must also list the transportation used as well as information of the location. We will visit the computer lab to work in collaborative groups.

Students will work in groups to create the PowerPoint to share with the class.

Ongoing Assessments: Students will be closely monitored as they are practicing using the Internet to ensure on task behavior and appropriate use of Internet searches. Teacher will ask questions and keep students on task.
Accommodations and Extensions: An advanced reader, an on-level reader, and a strategic intervention reader will be in each group and research the places in which the natural resources are found. By working in these collaborative groups, students can have the assistance of their peers while participating in an engaging lesson. Also, the teacher and Title I Paraprofessional will assist as needed.
Back-Up Plan: If the internet is down, students can check out books from the library to work on project. When internet is back in use, we will continue in the computer lab.
Lesson Reflections and Notes: The group work and PowerPoint will be scored using a rubric.
